COVID-19 Updates: Effective Friday, June 5, 2020, the Transfer Station will resume acceptance of yard waste and bulk waste from County residents and businesses. Only waste generated in the County can be brought to the facility. Visit DEP Programs and Services Updates for the latest information.
Search for another material
We accept clean tires and inner tubes only from residents at no charge at our Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station. Tires must be clean of dirt and mud.
Follow the signs to the Recycling Area. There, look for the trailer labeled "Tires."
You may bring up to 5 tires per year.
Tires may be up to 33 inches in diameter. We accept tires with or without rims.
We also accept bicycle tires and tubes.
Sorry, we cannot accept tires from these sources.
Please call Montgomery County's Customer Service Center at 311 (out-of-County: 240-777-0311) before bringing tires from community or illegal dumping cleanups.
We'll help you determine whether the tires involved are acceptable in our program.
