Announcement Date: Tuesday, June 22, 2021

Due to COVID-19, the payment for the FY2021 Rental Housing License Renewal and Common Ownership Annual Registration – due July 31, 2020 – was placed on hold until the expiration of Governor Hogan’s Executive Order relating to the extension of renewing expiring permits or licenses. On June 15, 2021, Maryland’s State of Emergency was lifted and the Executive Order, No. 21-03-09-03, will expire July 1, 2021.

The Governor has granted a 45-day grace period (August 15) to allow expired license holders to come into compliance. However, DHCA will extend the payment due date for both FY2021 and FY2022 to August 30th – normal due dates, July 31, 2020, and July 31, 2021, respectively. This will allow landlords who owe for both fiscal periods additional time to come into compliance and grant landlords who only owe for FY2022 the same extended due date benefit.

Invoices for FY2021 were issued Nov/Dec 2020 to allow those who wished to pay to do so. Any unpaid balance will appear on the FY2022 invoice. The invoices for FY2022 will be available online July 2nd and mailed the week of July 5. Again, the payment due date for FY2021 and FY2022 renewals is August 30 2021.
