Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich joined nonprofit housing developer Mission First Housing and community leaders in Wheaton to celebrate the “topping off” of 1910 University Boulevard, a new 90-unit affordable senior housing community now under construction.
This four-story development will offer modern, affordable homes for older residents with incomes between 30% and 70% AMI. This project is a true partnership—supported by Montgomery County DHCA funding, State of Maryland resources, and the collaboration of Congregation Har Tzeon – Agudath Achim, whose underused parking lot is now being transformed into much-needed senior housing.
As the County celebrates 10 years in the WHO/AARP Age-Friendly Communities Network, developments like this support our ongoing work to help older adults age in place with dignity, connection, and access to community resources.
