For Immediate Release: Thursday, July 17, 2025
Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will be joined by County Council President Kate Stewart, Council Vice President Will Jawando, Councilmember Kristin Mink, Maryland’s State District 14 team, and other community leaders on Friday, July 18, to celebrate a milestone for the Burtonsville area. Domain Fitness & Performance's grand opening marks the final anchor tenant in the redevelopment of the Burtonsville Crossing shopping center.
State lawmakers played a large role in funding the project, and as a result, Senator Craig Zucker will deliver remarks and be supported by Delegates Anne Kaiser, Pamela Queen, and Bernice Mireku-North.
“This is a great example of what happens when government listens to the community and works together to make things happen,” said County Executive Elrich. “For too long, Burtonsville Crossing sat empty while residents kept telling us they wanted a thriving shopping center again. I’m glad we were able to partner with our State delegation, the County Council and community leaders to finally bring this project to the finish line. Burtonsville deserves good places to shop, to gather and now with Domain Fitness, to stay healthy too. I’m pleased with the progress we’ve made here in East County, and we’re going to keep pushing for more investment in this part of the County.”
