Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich's Weekly Media Briefing on Tuesday, Aug. 26, to Feature Former NOAA Assistant Administrator for Research, Craig McLean, and Focus on the Impacts of Federal Defunding of NOAA Research on Combating Climate Change

Reporters interested in asking Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich questions will be able to do so during this week’s virtual media briefing, which will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26.

The County Executive has invited Craig McLean, former NOAA Assistant Administrator for Research, to focus on the impacts of defunding NOAA research on combating climate change and the local workforce. The County Executive will also discuss increased investment in Clean Water Montgomery Grants for local nonprofits and highlight the outreach and engagement efforts of the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services.

The weekly media briefings offer reporters an opportunity to discuss timely and vital issues with the County Executive, key members of the County Government and community leaders invited to the Zoom call. Media members who wish to participate in the virtual media briefing should RSVP to Tracy O’Connor at tracy.o'[email protected] on the day of the briefing. Login information will be provided after receipt of the RSVP. Login information for the media briefing remains the same from week to week. There is no need to RSVP each week unless you are new to the call.
