Reporters interested in asking Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich questions will be able to do so during this week’s virtual media briefing, which will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10.
The County Executive will discuss the University Boulevard Corridor Plan and his opposition to the continued effort to ignore the master plan process. The proposal, under consideration by the Montgomery County Council and the subject of a public hearing on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at Blair High School, proposes wide-scale changes to neighborhoods through rezoning. It will be the first time the County Executive will testify during a public hearing. He will also use the media briefing to discuss Hispanic Heritage Month amidst fear within the Hispanic community caused by increased ICE enforcement and the newly-released Troubled Properties List, which shows great progress in addressing issues through newly enacted regulations. The weekly media briefings offer reporters an opportunity to discuss timely and vital issues with the County Executive, key members of the County Government and community leaders invited to the Zoom call.
