Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and County Council President Natali Fani-González will be joined by County Climate Change Officer Sarah Kogel-Smucker, Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security Director Luke Hodgson and University of Maryland Department of Earth Science Chair Dr. Sumant Nigam to release the County’s Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) Climate Action Plan Annual Report and highlight the installation of the County’s third Mesonet weather station. The event will highlight the County’s progress in implementing its Climate Action Plan and the role of the Maryland Mesonet stations in strengthening climate resilience across the County and the State, in partnership with the University of Maryland.
