Council Spotlight

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Council President Nancy Navarro presented a proclamation recognizing October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Council was joined by Dr. Raymond Crowel, director of the Department of Health and Services; and by Marshall Moneymaker, also known as the Pink Fireman, and his wife Shannon Moneymaker. After three of Marshall Moneymaker’s sisters passed away due to breast cancer, his wife Shannon founded For 3 Sisters, a national grassroots organization dedicated to raising awareness and improve the lives of men and women affected by breast cancer. Council President Navarro also shared her story of her younger sister losing the fight against breast cancer.
