County Executive Isiah Leggett toured the County’s first Homeless Resource Day with Nadim Khan, chief of Special Needs Housing at Health and Human Services. The event featured one-stop services for homeless individuals and families. More than 60 programs and organizations were represented and there were more than 200 volunteers who worked throughout the day. Organizations offered everything from legal help and tax preparation to dental and other health screenings and haircuts and manicures. Attendees could also sign up for human service benefits such as emergency housing, food stamps and ID cards from the Motor Vehicle Administration.
