Recognizing the 20th anniversary of the BlackRock Center for the Arts

Councilmember Craig Rice presents a proclamation to recognize the 20th anniversary of the BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown and celebrate the BlackRock Center for their continued efforts to bring diverse visual arts experiences to County residents and their efforts to help end food insecurity.

The BlackRock Center reaches thousands of people every year with shows highlighting top regional, national, and international talent in jazz, blues, go-go, Celtic, folk, world, and bluegrass music, and contemporary theater performances for audiences of all ages.

With County help and resources, the community at BlackRock created the UpCounty Distribution Hub in the Center space during the COVID-19 pandemic to get food and other resources to those in need. Distributions continue to this day.
