Recognizing National Gun Violence Awareness Month
June is National Gun Violence Awareness Month. On June 2, 2023, Councilmember Gabe Albornoz was joined by Montgomery County officials to recognize and discuss the issue of gun violence, honor victims and survivors of gun violence, and advocate for continued efforts to end gun violence in our community.
Councilmember Albornoz was joined by Councilmembers Natali Fani-Gonzalez, Dawn Luedtke, Laurie-Anne Sayles and Kristin mMink. Speakers included State’s Attorney John McCarthy, Montgomery County Sheriff Max Uy, Joanna Pearl from Mom’s Demand Action and Luis Cardona from the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services.
