Mom and Pop Small Business Day
On March 19, 2024, Councilmembers Laurie-Anne Sayles and Sidney Katz present a proclamation for Mom and Pop Small Business Day. Mom and pop businesses support the community by making shopping more personal, and providing a unique experience to consumers with fresh, innovative ideas in the marketplace.
In Montgomery County, more than 95% of businesses have fewer than 50 employees. The Montgomery County Council and the newly formed Economic Development Committee are dedicated to assisting mom and pop businesses through grant funding, training and education, streamlining regulatory processes and business funding.
