National Agriculture Day
On Tuesday, March 19, 2024, Councilmembers Marilyn Balcombe, Dawn Luedtke, Council President Andrew Friedson and Councilmember Laurie-Anne Sayles presented a proclamation celebrating National Agriculture Day. Montgomery County has the highest percentage of farmland under agricultural land preservation of any county in the nation, with over 70,000 acres of agriculturally assessed lands and over 500 farms that employ over 10,000 people.
