On April 16, 2024, the Montgomery County Council, led by Council President Andrew Friedson and Councilmembers Sidney Katz and Evan Glass, presented a proclamation recognizing Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah) in Montgomery County. Guests included Ed Godin, who accepted the proclamation on behalf of his late mother Nesse Godin, a survivor and passionate advocate for Holocaust education. Attendees also included survivors Emanuel "Manny" Mandel and Peter Gorog.
