Council Spotlight

ALS Awareness Month

On April 23, 2024, Councilmember Sidney Katz presents a proclamation recognizing April as ALS Awareness Month in Montgomery County. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), is a fatal nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Every 90 minutes a patient is diagnosed with ALS. Councilmember Katz was joined by former Councilmember Craig Rice and Tara Huang from the ALS Association. The County Council encourages residents to adopt the ALS Association core values of compassion, integrity and urgency to find a cure and create a world without ALS.
