National Voter Registration Day
On Sept. 17, 2024, Council Vice President Kate Stewart presents a proclamation in honor of National Voter Registration Day. Montgomery County has implemented robust outreach efforts to ensure that every eligible resident is aware of and can easily navigate the voter registration process.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, approximately 66 percent of eligible voters participated in the 2020 presidential election, indicating the vital role of voter registration in driving voter turnout. The Council calls upon community organizations, educational institutions, and local governments to continue their efforts in promoting voter registration and ensuring that every eligible individual understands their rights and responsibilities as a voter.
