Council Spotlight

International Pronouns Day

On Oct. 15, 2024, Council Vice President Kate Stewart and Councilmember Kristin Mink present a proclamation recognizing Oct. 16 as International Pronouns Day. International Pronouns Day began in 2018 and takes place on the third Wednesday of October to make respecting, sharing, and educating about personal pronouns a standard practice. Montgomery County takes pride in being a welcoming, caring, and diverse community that strives to uphold individuals’ human right to dignity. Together, we can transform society to celebrate people’s multiple, intersecting identities. The Council was joined by the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), community members and organizations, including Rainbow Place Shelter, Trans Maryland, CCI Health Services, the MoCo Pride Center and Silver Spring United Methodist Church.
