On Oct. 29, 2024, members of the Council’s Transportation and Environment (TE) Committee, including Chair Evan Glass, Councilmember Marilyn Balcombe and Council Vice President Kate Stewart, presented a proclamation to recognize Energy Action Month. They were joined by the Department of Environmental Protection (CEP), the Montgomery County Green Bank, Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland, and Interfaith Works.
Montgomery County is a nationwide climate leader with goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80 percent by 2027 and 100 percent by 2035. The County's commitment to building a sustainable future is exemplified through our Climate Action Plan and other programs to help residents make their homes more energy efficient.
