On Jan. 21, 2024, Councilmember Dawn Luedtke and County Executive Marc Elrich present a proclamation recognizing January as Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Month. The U.S. Department of State estimates that approximately 27.6 million individuals worldwide are currently subjected to human trafficking, a cruel offense that exploits women, men, and children across the globe.
If you or someone you know is a victim of human trafficking, call the County’s Trauma Services line at 240-777-4357 (HELP). Tips can be reported to the human trafficking hotline at 1-888-373-7888.
