Mom and Pop Small Business Day
On March 25, 2025, Councilmembers Laurie-Anne Sayles and Sidney Katz present a proclamation for Mom and Pop Business Owners Day. Montgomery County has a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem, with more than 95 percent of businesses employing fewer than 50 individuals, reflecting the County's strong support for small enterprises. Small businesses play a crucial role in strengthening our local economies by contributing 40 percent of the nation’s gross domestic product, generate approximately two-thirds of new jobs, and employ nearly half of all private-sector workers.
