Council Spotlight

Weed Warrior Volunteer Program

On June 17, 2025, Councilmember Evan Glass presents a proclamation to the Weed Warrior Volunteer Program, which was created in 1999 to empower community members and help Montgomery Parks manage non-native invasive species on the more than 37,000 acres of local parkland.

Weed Warrior volunteers have spent over 147,000 hours preserving our parks and building camaraderie among residents of all ages, backgrounds and regions of Montgomery County.

A big thank you to these and many other dedicated environmentalists in our County who work tirelessly to protect and restore our natural ecosystems.
