National Farmers Day

On Oct. 7, 2025, Councilmember Laurie-Anne Sayles presents a proclamation for National Farmer's Day. National Farmer’s Day is a day to honor and thank hardworking farmers who are an integral part of our community’s access to nutritious, sustainable, and high-quality food, bolstering economic growth across sectors while feeding communities throughout our nation.

In 1980, Montgomery County established the 93,000-acre Agricultural Reserve. The Ag Reserve is home to nearly 600 farms and more than 10,000 residents, contributing almost $300 million annually to the County’s economy.
