The Montgomery County Council on July 18 continued its series of informal meetings with agencies and leaders who have an impact on the County when it met with new Montgomery County Public Schools Superintendent Jack Smith (right) and the Board of Education. Superintendent Smith emphasized that he intends to have plans for students at all levels of academic achievement and with a wide variety of academic interests. He said he wants MCPS diplomas to carry value for students regardless of what their next steps will be beyond high school.
