EXPANDING THE REACH OF SCIENCE

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett, County Council President Roger Berliner and Councilmember Craig Rice, chair of the Council’s Education Committee, on Feb. 16 joined Montgomery College officials to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of Montgomery College Science Center West. The center includes five computer labs; 12 classrooms; an experimental learning lab; and a math emporium based on the successful Virginia Tech Math Emporium. At the ceremonies were, left to right: Dean of Science, Engineering and Technology Muhammad H. Kehnemouyi; Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs Sanjay Rai; County Executive Leggett; College President DeRionne Pollard; Council President Berliner; College Board of Trustees Board Chair Marsha Suggs-Smith; and Councilmember Craig Rice.
