Small Business Week
April 29 to May 5 is National Small Business Week. Council Vice President Nancy Navarro presented a proclamation on behalf of the Council acknowledging the vital role small businesses play in our local economy. Ninety four percent of all businesses in Montgomery County are small businesses, and the County accounts for 14.9 percent of the main offices for startup companies in the DC and Baltimore region. The Council was joined by Gigi Godwin, President and CEO of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, and the owners of Rocketeria in Olney (www.rocketeria.biz) and Los Chorros Restaurant in Wheaton (www.loschorrosrestaurant.com) for the proclamation. #SmallBusinessWeek
