Councilmember Craig Rice presented a proclamation celebrating the establishment of Montgomery College’s nursing program in 1965. Dr. DeRionne Pollard, President of Montgomery College; Dr. Brad Stewart, Vice President of Health Sciences, Provost of Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus; Professor Angela Pickwick, Instructional Dean of Health Sciences; Dr. Monique Davis, Associate Dean of Nursing; Prof. Dianna Matthews, Nursing Program Chair, and representatives of the 384 current students and over 5,000 alumni attended the presentation. Nursing students can engage in clinical rotations in partnership with Holy Cross Hospital on the Germantown Campus to perform in clinical rotations, making Montgomery College the first community college in the United States with a hospital on its campus.
