Reading and Educating to Advance Lives

Council Vice President Nancy Navarro gave a proclamation recognizing the work of the Reading and Educating to Advance Lives (REAL) Program, a partnership between Montgomery County’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), the Jewish Council for the Aging’s Heyman Interages Center (JCA Interages) and Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL). The REAL Program offers fun and engaging activities for children, provides educational opportunities for families, and allows older adults to interact closely with young children in meaningful and challenging ways. David Gamse (CEO of the Jewish Council for Aging, pictured front-center), Austin Heyman (Founder, JCA Interages, front-left), Monica Talley (DHHS, back row, second-from-right), and Anita Vassallo (back row, center) gave remarks during the presentation.
