Republic Day of India

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich was one of the main speakers at the 70th Republic Day of India celebration organized by the National Council of Asian Indian Associations, Inc (NCAIA). This event celebrates India’s independence from British Raj, the rule by the British Crown. Elrich acknowledged the sizeable Indian American population in Montgomery County and highlighted the importance of the Sister City Agreement between the County and Hyderabad, India. During the event, Elrich was formally introduced to the new Ambassador of India to the United States, His Excellency Harsh Vardhan Shringla. See more photos from flickr album.
