Rockville, Md., Sept. 24, 2021—On Monday, Sept. 27 at 11:30 a.m., Council President Tom Hucker and Council Vice President Gabe Albornoz will hold a media availability to discuss Bill 45-20, Police-Community Policing-Data, which requires the Montgomery County Police Department to provide data on police interactions with residents including stops, searches, citations, arrests and the use of force as well as demographic information. Council President Hucker and Councilmember Albornoz are sponsors of the bill with Councilmember Will Jawando and Councilmember Sidney Katz, who serves as chair of the Public Safety Committee.
The duo will also discuss the Council’s African Heritage Month Commemoration on Sept. 28, the Council's Sept. 29 virtual community town hall meeting, and other Council-related matters.
Montgomery County Health and Human Services Public Health Emergency Preparedness Manager Sean O’Donnell will join the media availability to provide a public health update.
The media availability will be held via Zoom and is for credentialed members of the media.
