Montgomery College’s upcoming informative session on information technology programs will also be discussed
The featured guests on this week’s En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (In Tune with the Montgomery County Council) will include Montgomery County Councilmember Natali Fani-González, who serves as the chair of the Council's Economic Development (ECON) Committee, and Raúl Marín, community engagement specialist at Montgomery College. The show will air on Friday, Sept. 6 at 2 p.m. on Radio America (WILC 900AM) and is streamed on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Amazon Music.
The radio show will start with information about the Public Safety Town Hall organized by Councilmember Fani-González. The event is aimed at providing community members with an opportunity to express their concerns and suggestions for enhancing safety and the quality of life in their neighborhoods. Members of the Maryland House of Delegates representing Districts 18 and 19 will also participate in the meeting. The Public Safety Town Hall will occur on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. at the Wheaton Library. Additionally, Councilmember Fani-González will discuss Bill 14-24, which she co-sponsors with Vice President Kate Stewart. Bill 14-24, Vehicle Noise Abatement Monitoring - Pilot Program, seeks to decrease excessive vehicle noise by mandating police to use noise cameras to enforce state exhaust noise laws.
The radio show will conclude with important details about the upcoming information session on information technology programs offered at Montgomery College. The Office of Community Engagement will host its monthly virtual session on Monday, Sept. 30. The free event aims to guide community members interested in pursuing a career in IT.
The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express their views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station.
Each week, the show features host Marcela Rodriguez, Council program manager and public information officer, and guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
