For Immediate Release: Monday, February 27, 2006

The award-winning Elder Law Series presented by the Montgomery County Recreation Department’s Senior Programs has been expanded this year into a series of six individual seminars addressing critical legal and financial issues impacting the 55+ population, their adult children and providers of services to older adults.

Organizers say the expanded format will allow the program to present a broader array of key topics and serve a greater number of people.

The series, to be held at Holiday Park Multiservice Senior Center, 3950 Ferrara Dr., Wheaton, will begin on Thursday, March 9 and will continue for six consecutive Thursdays -- March 23, April 6 and 20, and May 4 and 18. All programs will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Registration is $25.00 for the entire six-part series or $5.00 per seminar. The fee includes the Elder Law Series 2006 Portfolio, information packet, seminar admission and snack provided by the Whole Foods Market of Montgomery County. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged as previous seminars have sold out. Registration brochures are available at local senior centers, libraries and community centers, as well as online at montgomerycountymd.gov. Brochures also may be obtained by calling Holiday Park at 301-468-4448.
