Montgomery County Wins 2016 Achievement of Excellence Award

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Montgomery County’s Office of Procurement has earned the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement (AEP) Award for 2016 from the National Procurement Institute (NPI). This is the fourth consecutive year the Office of Procurement has won this award.

The AEP Award honors public procurement organizations that achieve organizational excellence through innovation, professionalism, productivity and e-procurement. AEP also recognizes leaders in national, state and regional outreach in addition to participation in a public procurement association.

“Montgomery County Government is one of only eight jurisdictions in Maryland that received this award,” said County Executive Ike Leggett.  “We are pleased to see our Office of Procurement is recognized as a national leader.”

AEP determined winners after careful assessment of each applicant’s overall body of work and evaluation of how well each organization meets or exceeds industry best practice.

NPI, the public sector affiliate of the Institute for Supply Management, promotes the achievement of excellence in governmental and institutional procurement through education, certification, professional development and networking of its membership.
