Montgomery County Public Libraries Presents a Senior Resource Fair on Oct. 25

Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) will present a free senior resource fair on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kensington Park Library located at 4201 Knowles Ave.


“Enriching the Lives of Seniors” is the theme for the fair, which aims to connect seniors to the numerous library and county resources available.


Seniors can participate in fitness demonstrations, information sessions and network with representatives about housing and recreation opportunities.


Author Armiger Jagoe will join the event for a book signing and discussion of his book “I Love Being Old.”


Exhibitors and presenters include:

·         Elder law and estate planning resources by Attorney Amy L. Griboff;

·         Fitness demonstrations from the Bone Builders Exercise and Fitness program;

·         Holy Cross Health Partners in Kensington;

·         Jewish Council for the Aging Memory Care—Arden Courts;

·         Maryland State Insurance Administration;

·         Maryland State Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped;

·         Montgomery County Health and Human Services Senior Connection Transportation Program;

·         National Network of Medical Libraries—Health Research;

·         Oasis—Fun, Educational, and Creative Classes; Technology Connections; Intergenerational Tutoring; and Health Programs;

·         Senior Beacon; and

·         Villages of Kensington.


The senior resource fair is one of the many outreach events that MCPL hosts with community and County agencies to showcase a broad range of resources for County residents.
