Latino Student Fund and Hispanic Heritage Foundation are focus of prerecorded “En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado,” Friday, August 30 at 2 p.m. on Radio America

ROCKVILLE, Md., August 28, 2019—María Fernanda Borjas, director of the Latino Student Fund, and Nicolás Peña, communications and programs specialist with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, will be the featured guests on En Sintonía con El Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (In Tune with the Montgomery County Council), this Friday, August 30 at 2 p.m. on Radio America (WILC 900AM). María Fernanda Borjas will discuss the programs of the Latino Student Fund, which aims to address disparities in access to education for Hispanic and Latino students and the opening of a new center in Montgomery County. Nicolás Peña will share information about the work of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation and the impact of their programs on the Latino community. This prerecorded program originally aired on August 16.

The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.

Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
