Employment fair, safe immigrant families forum and Hispanic Heritage Month will be the focus of “En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado,” Friday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. on Radio America

ROCKVILLE, Md., Sept. 12, 2019—Melissa Rivera, spokesperson for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS); Ingrid Limaza, community engagement specialist with the Latino Health Initiative (LHI); Christine Perez, program and resource development associate with the National Hispanic Council on Aging (NHCOA); and Andres Ovalle, activation specialist with Montgomery Parks, will be the featured guests on En Sintonía con El Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (In Tune with the Montgomery County Council), this Friday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. on Radio America (WILC 900AM).

Melissa Rivera will share information about the upcoming Employment Fair for technical and maintenance careers with MCPS. She also will discuss the vaccination clinics available for students between 7th and 12th grade who still need to meet the established requirements for vaccinations established by the State of Maryland.

Ingrid Limaza and Christine Perez will discuss an upcoming community forum, Safe Immigrant Families. The forum will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the downtown Silver Spring Civic Building.

In the program’s final segment, Andres Ovalle will talk about special Montgomery Parks programs and events for Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.

The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.

Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
