Suicide prevention and intervention in drug addictions are focus of prerecorded “En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado,” Friday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. on Radio America

ROCKVILLE, Md., Sept. 19, 2019—Katie Piura, therapist and Viviana Azar, clinical supervisor of the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Karla Santiago, therapist for access to behavioral services, Regina Morales and Ben Stevenson, representatives with the DHHS Crisis Program will be the featured guests on this prerecorded episode of En Sintonía con El Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (In Tune with the Montgomery County Council), this Friday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. on Radio America (WILC 900AM). The guests will discuss the statistics and scope of the suicide and drug abuse problems in the United States, how to recognize warning signs and resources available for prevention of suicide and addiction. This prerecorded episode originally aired on Sept. 6.

The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.

Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
