The Council will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 9:30 a.m. Individuals interested in attending a Council meeting should confirm the information on the day of the meeting by visiting the Council’s web page or by calling the Council’s Legislative Information Office at 240-777-7832. All meetings are held in the Council Office Building (100 Maryland Ave., Rockville, Md) in the third floor hearing room, unless otherwise noted.
Semi-Annual Report of the Montgomery County Planning Board
The Council will receive the semi-annual report of the Montgomery County Planning Board. Twice a year the Planning Board produces a report that provides highlights from the work programs of the Montgomery County Planning Department and Montgomery Parks. In the past, these reports have been published as booklets, but the Fall 2019 report will be a presentation to the Council.
The Planning Department will discuss their ongoing work, both master plan and regulatory, with respect to the General Plan, which was created in 1964 and has since been periodically updated.
The topics covered in the report include a focus on trails, athletic fields, activating urban parks, park projects and Parks’ volunteer program. Casey Anderson, chair of the Montgomery County Planning Board; Natali Fani-Gonzalez, vice chair of the Planning Board; Gwen Wright, director of the Planning Department; and Mike Riley, director of Montgomery Parks; are among those expected to attend the meeting.

Zoning Text Amendment 19-08, Bicycle Parking - Requirements and Design Standards
The Council will introduce ZTA 19-08. This zoning measure would implement the recommendations of the 2018 Bicycle Master Plan, which was approved by the Council in November 2018. Council President Nancy Navarro is the lead sponsor, at the request of the Montgomery County Planning Board. The amendment would do the following:
