The public is invited to join community leaders for a conversation about the Montgomery County Early Care and Education Initiative (ECEI) on Monday, Nov. 25 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., at 1401 Rockville Pike in Rockville. Attendees will learn about the County’s early care and education priorities and be invited to share their thoughts.
The free forum will provide an opportunity to learn about accomplishments to date, and a and a chance to voice opinions about priorities moving forward. Free childcare will be provided for children six weeks to eight years of age. Language interpretation will also be available.
The Montgomery County Early Care and Education Initiative was established to coordinate early childhood services and ensure that children are getting what they need to thrive in the early years and to succeed at other stages in life. Research shows access to early learning opportunities for children from birth to five years old is the key to improving school readiness and later school success.
The initiative is a partnership of the Office of the County Executive, the Montgomery County Council, Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, Montgomery College, and Montgomery County Public Schools.
The forum will be held at the Department of Health and Human Services, located at 1401 Rockville Pike. Free validated parking is available beneath the building. Seating for the event is limited so early registration is recommended. Click here to register. Registration closes November 20.
