ROCKVILLE, Md., Jan. 23, 2020—Montgomery County Council President Sidney Katz; Blanca Kling, spokesperson for the Montgomery County Police Department; and Dr. Gabriela Romo, psychologist and bilingual counselor, will be the featured guests on En Sintonía con El Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (In Tune with the Montgomery County Council), airing this Friday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. on Radio America (WILC 900AM). Council President Katz represents District 3, which includes Gaithersburg, Rockville, Washington Grove, Leisure World, and parts of Aspen Hill, Derwood, North Potomac and Potomac. He will discuss his major goals during his Council presidency and share information about his joint 4Business initiative with County Executive Marc Elrich, which aims to engage the local business community in a grassroots campaign to assist businesses to locate, grow and prosper in Montgomery County.
In the second half of the program, Blanca Kling and Dr. Gabriela Romo will discuss some of the reasons why young people run away from home and how police handle these cases. They also will share information about the risks involved with this behavior and how parents can take action.
The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.
Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
