Montgomery County Alcohol Beverage Services Provides 2020 Resource Calendar for Alcohol Licensed Businesses

For Immediate Release: Friday, February 14, 2020

Montgomery County Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) has produced a 2020 resource calendar for more than 1,000 alcohol licensed businesses in Montgomery County.

The 2020 calendar includes a tear off ID checking section for sellers and servers, and monthly regulatory tips, important licensing dates and training schedules.

“Alcohol Beverage Services strives to educate licensees and provide businesses with the tools they need to help keep the community safe, including preventing under 21 alcohol access,” said Kathie Durbin, chief of the ABS Licensure, Regulation and Education (LRE) division. “These calendars are a great, free resource.”

The calendars are distributed to each of the licensed establishments in Montgomery County. They were funded through a national award. View the calendar online here.

ABS is the alcohol wholesaler of beer, wine and spirits for Montgomery County, operates 25 beer, wine and spirits stores and oversees the regulation of alcohol. Generating approximately $35 million in profits annually, ABS profits are used to pay off County debt and a large portion is deposited in the County’s general fund to pay for services that otherwise would be paid for with tax dollars.

LRE, a division within ABS, regulates the sale and distribution of alcohol through a robust licensing and compliance program.
