For Immediate Release: Tuesday, March 24, 2020
More than 50 Downtown Silver Spring restaurants are currently offering curbside pickup, takeout and delivery during the COVID-19 health crisis. Dine-in service during the crisis has been banned throughout Maryland by an order of Governor Larry Hogan.
The Silver Spring Regional Services Center, Silver Spring Urban District and the Silver Spring Arts & Entertainment District have worked together to support businesses during the crisis. They combined to put together the list of restaurants that remain open to serve the public, although in some cases, in a significantly different manner than how they normally operate.
“These restaurants are providing an important resource to our community, providing delicious comfort food during the pandemic,” said Reemberto Rodriguez, director of the Silver Spring regional services area. “Our Silver Spring restaurants usually act as gathering places for our community, friends and colleagues. Right now, they are helping our residents to function, providing basic necessities while maintaining social distancing.”
In an effort to help businesses during the health crisis, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation has modified some of its parking meter enforcement regulations areas where businesses remain open for quick pickups—such as restaurants, pharmacies and food stores. In those areas, drivers will be allowed to stand for up to 15 minutes for curbside pickup and takeout.

The list will be updated regularly as restaurants adjust their schedules throughout the health crisis.
