ROCKVILLE, Md., April 1, 2020—Council President Sidney Katz made the following statement on the death of a Montgomery County man associated with Covid-19. This is the second County resident to die from the virus.
Today is another heartbreaking one in Montgomery County as we have learned that a second resident, who was in his 60s, has lost his life to Covid-19. We are keeping his family, friends and loved ones in our thoughts, and we send the family our deepest condolences.
The Council appreciates the efforts of the medical professionals who worked to save this man's life and the first responders who are on the front lines each day protecting our community members.
The Covid-19 pandemic is an unprecedented crisis for our county, our state and our nation. The death of this community member serves as a reminder that all of our lives are interconnected. Each of us is responsible for stopping the spread of Covid-19. Stay home unless travel is essential, wash your hands and contact your health care provider if you are exhibiting symptoms.
Montgomery County residents are resilient. We will continue to support each other through this public health crisis and emerge as an even stronger, more unified community.
