ROCKVILLE, Md., April 3, 2020—Alex Mancera, health consultant with Maryland Health Connection; Gabriela Raudales, operations coordinator with the Gilchrist Immigrant Resource Center; Silverio Coy, immigration attorney; and Susan Capobianco, investigator with the Montgomery County Department of Housing and Community Affairs’ Landlord-Tenant Affairs Office, will be the featured guests on En Sintonía con El Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (In Tune with the Montgomery County Council), airing today at 2 p.m. on Radio America (WILC 900AM). The show’s host Lilian Mass will begin by sharing information about the Council’s recently approved $26 million emergency relief package for County-based businesses and vulnerable residents suffering financial losses due to the Covid-19 public health emergency.
Guests also will discuss issues related to the current public health emergency including housing issues and renters’ rights, accessing healthcare and testing and the potential obstacles to doing so because of federal immigration enforcement actions, and the resources available through the Gilchrist Immigrant Resource Center.
The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.
Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
