Covid-19 resources and information are focus of “En Sintonía con el Concejo”, today at 2 p.m. on Radio America

ROCKVILLE, Md., May 1, 2020—BB Otero, special assistant to County Executive Marc Elrich; Valeria Carranza, chief of staff for Councilmember Evan Glass; and Luisa Montero, director of the Mid-County Regional Services Center, will be the featured guests on En Sintonía con El Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (In Tune with the Montgomery County Council), airing today at 2 p.m. on Radio America (WILC 900AM). BB Otero will share information about the process for disbursement of emergency relief funds to provide financial assistance low-income households in Montgomery County. Valeria Carranza will discuss the recent $2 million special appropriation funded by the full Council and spearheaded by Councilmember Glass to provide emergency eviction prevention and housing stabilization programs. Luisa Montero will talk about resources for tenants, mental health and volunteerism during the Covid-19 public health emergency.

The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.

Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
