Councilmembers Nancy Navarro and Gabe Albornoz host a Virtual Forum in Spanish on Saturday, May 16 at 4 p.m.

Forum will focus on County resources available during the COVID-19 pandemic and will be moderated by anchor Tsitsiki Félix of Univision Washington and reporter Alberto Pimienta of Telemundo 44

ROCKVILLE, MD, May 13, 2020— Councilmembers Nancy Navarro and Gabe Albornoz, along with the Latino Health Initiative, will host a virtual forum in Spanish where they will share information and discuss the economic, social and health impact of the COVID-19 on the Latino community. Since March, there have been countless efforts made in the County to counteract the effects of this health crisis in our community. Renowned journalists from Univision Washington and Telemundo 44 will be co-moderating the forum. The discussion will also feature a panel of experts from County agencies, community organizations, and legal experts. This discussion will be devoted to providing critical resources and answering questions from the Latino community. The virtual event will be held entirely in Spanish.

The topics and resources related to COVID-19 that will be discussed during the forum include health, food, housing, County emergency relief programs, immigration and labor rights, and voting information, among other topics. The last segment will be a musical performance from Venezuelan singer-song writer, Jonathan Acosta.

The virtual forum will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 4 p.m. The forum will be streamed live on Facebook @ConcejoDelCondadoDeMontgomery and the Council’s YouTube MoCoCouncilMD. Community members will have the opportunity to submit their questions through the Facebook Live stream.
