Council President Katz to host fourth weekly business and economic development briefing on Zoom this Friday, May 22 at 12:30 p.m.

ROCKVILLE, Md., May 19, 2020—This Friday, May 22 at 12:30 p.m., Montgomery County Council President Sidney Katz will host the fourth installment of his weekly series of virtual business briefings for County residents. He will be joined by Lesley MacDonald, executive director of Nonprofit Montgomery, and Alice Nappy, executive director of VisArts. The briefing will take place on the online video communications platform Zoom.

Topics to be discussed include navigating the economic difficulties created by the Covid-19 public health crisis as a local business or nonprofit organization, inspiring the public, private and nonprofit sectors to innovate and adapt, and helping businesses and nonprofit organizations access local, state and federal assistance to weather the crisis.

“During a health crisis of this magnitude, all of us have to be adaptable and collaborative, whether we are in local government, the local business community or the nonprofit sector,” said Council President Katz. “I look forward to discussing these major issues and responding to residents’ questions with Lesley MacDonald of Nonprofit Montgomery and Alice Nappy of Visarts.”

Residents will also have the opportunity to submit questions in the Zoom chat during the question and answer portion of the briefing. Residents must register ahead of time by emailing Councilmember.Katz@MontgomeryCountyMD.Gov to participate. Residents will receive the Zoom call information by email when they register.
