For Immediate Release: Wednesday, August 26, 2020
Car Free Day is a worldwide event that encourages traveling in ways that are greener than driving alone, such as walking or riding a train, bus, bicycle, carpool, vanpool or subway. For those that have the ability to work from home, telework also counts. Commuter Connections hosts Car Free Day in the DC region.
Take the Car Free Day pledge by September 22 (even if you’re already car free or car-lite) and receive promo codes for your own $30 gift card to local merchants from Nift Gift and a free vegan Love Burger from LEON. Everyone who takes the pledge will be entered for a chance to win raffle prizes.
Using more sustainable ways to get around helps reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions and traffic congestion. The more people travel using bicycles, buses, trains, carpools and vanpools, the fewer pollutants are released into the atmosphere.
