For Immediate Release: Monday, September 21, 2020
The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a virtual public hearing about proposed construction of sidewalks in Silver Spring on Wednesday, September 30 at 7 p.m. The public is encouraged to provide oral and/or written comments.
The proposed sidewalks are located on the:
- East side of Childs Street from Burnt Mills Avenue to Northwest Drive, and the
- Southeast side of Rainbow Drive from Valencia Street to the existing sidewalk at the entrance to the Cloverly Forest subdivision.
The proposed sidewalks will enhance safety for those with disabilities, pedestrians and bicyclists as they travel to schools and nearby facilities. Public input will determine whether MCDOT constructs all or a portion of the sidewalks.
The hearing will be broadcast live at montgomerycounty.adobeconnect.com/childsrainbowsidewalks.
