ROCKVILLE, Md., Oct. 29, 2020—Craig Rice, Councilmember for District 2, will host a Montgomery Village Public Safety Town Hall from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9. The meeting will be held in a webinar format with the public invited to register online at https://tinyurl.com/MVTownHall. Registrants will be able to ask questions of Councilmember Rice and the county officials in attendance. This community meeting is an opportunity to learn about a variety of issues related to Montgomery Village, including tips for a safe holiday season and the latest public safety initiatives.

As the pandemic impacts our community in a variety of ways and exacerbates existing disparities, our public safety officials have been resolute in responding to the needs of our residents. Councilmember Rice will be joined by Fire Chief Scott Goldstein, Sheriff Darren Popkin and the newly appointed 6th District Commander Michael Ward with the Montgomery County Police Department.

“During the past nine months our lives have been upended by the pandemic and, at times, has led to social isolation for many in our community. I look forward to our conversation with residents about public safety and listening to the needs of community members in Montgomery Village.” said Councilmember Rice.

The Public Safety Town Hall also will be televised on County Cable Montgomery (Comcast Channels 6 and 996, Verizon Channel 30, and RCN Channels 6 and 1056). It will be livestreamed on Facebook at Facebook.com/RicePolitics. Questions can be texted in advance or during the Town Hall to 240-686-5334 (text only).
