County to Host Jan. 13 Online Mental Health and Community Wellness Conversation Focused on Recovery

For Immediate Release: Thursday, January 7, 2021

Residents are invited to join a free online event on Wednesday, Jan. 13 for a conversation focused on addiction and recovery issues and resources that are available in the community.

Speakers Latonia and Ed “Bunny” Rich will address the devastating impact that addiction can have on individuals and their loved ones. They will focus on the road to recovery and describe the benefits of utilizing the support of peer specialists.  They are the co-founders of Tree of Hope, a group of people in recovery who want to give back and help others connect to recovery.  The speakers are both in long term recovery and have been local community leaders in fostering a network of peer specialists (people in recovery and trained in helping others) to engage and support individuals and families who are struggling with addiction.

The session is part of a series, Wellness Community Events: Healing and Holding On - One Conversation at a Time for the Community, which is focused on mental health and wellness issues affecting the community as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

The virtual meetings are held every other Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The events are free and open to the public and no registration is required. Join the conversation on Teams Live at https://bit.ly/wellness-community-3 or view it live on County Cable Montgomery and the County’s Facebook page.
